And so it begins

I have to admit that when I woke up on November 9Th and turned on the news I already knew what I would see but I was still physically ill....President elect Obama. I was thinking that maybe there wouldn't be that many changes but I knew better. I just saw on the news last night that one of Obama's first plans as president deals with an issue that I am very passionate about, abortion. I find myself once again feeling physically ill. Obama wants to do away with all restrictions on abortion. This means allowing late term abortions, allowing teenagers to get abortions without consent and doing away with basic education about possible physical and mental side affects of abortions that women get now before the procedure. How any of this liberates women's rights is beyond me. I am horrified and disgusted.

when I was going through my EMT class I was able to go and see an autopsy. The autopsy was being performed on a women who was 3 months pregnant. It was basically two autopsies in one. I have always been prolife but when I saw that 3 month old fetus I became passionate about this. It was a baby girl and she had all of her fingers and toes, all of her internal organs and was most definitely a precious living life before her mom was killed in a car accident. I believe abortion is murder and now to make it even easier is horrific. God help us!

I broke down.

I broke down and got Max's haircut. I wanted to grow it out but we got some Christmas pictures done yesterday and I didn't want him to look scruffy so we got it cut. He does look handsome with short hair. It was of course a traumatic event at the barber's. Max was sobbing, which also meant that there was snot, which also meant that there was hair stuck all over his face. The old men waiting to get their cut were cracking up. It was pretty funny. The drama was over as quickly as it started when Max got down from the chair and was handed a sucker. Those suckers are magic.

Me and my wonderful husband!

Mel, Michael and Amy

Jason and I went out to dinner last night at the Brass Cafe and when we got there, I was greeted by about 20 of our friends and family all there to celebrate me turning 29....OK, 30. My husband is so sweet. Don't tell him I said that, I'll never here the end of it. I have admit that I suspected there might be a couple of our friends meeting us but I was so surprised to see everyone. I knew something was up when I asked Jason if we could go to a Japanese steakhouse for dinner and he told me no. It was a really fun time and it means so much to me that everyone could come and celebrate with us. Plus, everyone brought gifts which was so not necessary but tons of fun. I felt like a little girl at Christmas so excited to see a mound of gifts in front of her. So thanks to everyone who came. It was a wonderful evening.

Matching outfits

Jason thought this was funny...Max not so much.

I never thought I would be one of those moms who dressed their kids in matching outfits but that was before I knew how cute they would look.

Just some pictures of the boys

I'm just hanging out. Mom just leaves me in random spots around the house...geese.
Max just curled up on the couch the other day and took a nap, Too bad its not that easy everyday.

Hey duck I see she just leaves you hanging around too.

Max always wants to play with Micah in his crib. Its really cute.

Micah wearing his bib that always has spit up on it. We change bibs and clothes all day. I will be glad when he outgrows this. I feel so bad for the little guy but it doesn't seem to phase him.
I feel so lucky and blessed to have these two beautiful boys. I would be lost without them. Rested but lost.

Winter is definitely here

It has been snowing a little a bit everyday this week. We don't have much accumulation, we just get enough to make the roads a little slick so I am busy at work. This usually happens around the time I'm suppose to go home. What really says winter is the temperatures. Its a high of 25 degreees today.....burrrrrrrrr. I guess I better get used to it because its here to stay.

One lucky girl

I have been spoiled rotten today. The boys got me a massage, which is greatly needed and Jason got me a brand new laptop. Its awesome! He also got me an external hard drive to go with which is kind of for him too but who cares. I had so many people call and wish me a happy birthday today and it was really nice to feel so loved. Besides the 12.5 hours of work today it was a great birthday. Thanks everyone. Especially you Jay!

What a lovely surprise

I don't really want to talk about it, but my 30th birthday is on Monday. So Jason's mom and sister picked me up last night to take me somewhere to celebrate or mourn how ever you want to look at it. They kept it a surprise which made it fun. We ended up going to Loafer's Glory. I don't know how many of you have ever been there, but its wonderful. Its this little gift shop and restaurant in Blanchard , Michigan. Every year they do as Christmas weekend and it happened to fall on this weekend this year. I wish I wouldn't have forgotten my camera because I would love to share pics with you all. Its just magical out there. There is an incredible live nativity, horse drawn carriage rides, people dressed in great period clothing playing Christmas music, acting and just wandering about. All the workers are also dressed in period clothing. You really feel like you are back in time. This coupled with wonderful soup served in a bread bowl, hot apple cider and butter milk pie makes for a wonderful evening. Thanks Kathy and Katie!

A new take on bath time

I was running the bath water the other day and max was messing around with the vacuum in the hallway. When I returned to the bathroom 2 minutes later, this is what I found......Max in the tub with his clothes on and the vacuum cleaner extension in his hand.

A new toy

My mom brought Micah's christmas present over the other day so he could start using it.

its only good up to 25 pounds so we figured Micah should use it now while he can. He loves it. Max was having a blast bouncing him and swinging him. He was swinging him a bit much to be honest but Micah didn't seem to mind.

Aunt Lori, Matt and Jessica came to visit.

Remnants of chocolate ice cream from Chinese buffet....yum
Aunt Lori is the coolest!Matt checking out Micah

My sister, niece and nephew came to visit us on Friday. It's always fun to hang out with them. We went out to lunch to a Chinese buffet and half way through the meal I picked Micah up from his car seat because he was starting to fuss. I realized quickly that we had problem. He had pooped enough where it had come out of his diaper soaked through his outfit and even made it onto his car seat. I was lucky enough to get it on my pants and shirt as well. Fun I know. So to the bathroom we went to get cleaned up. I actually had to giggle about it because what else can you do but my niece and nephew were a bit disgusted.

Hey, check it out, I've got a foot and its mine to keep forever.... awesome!

Its snowing

Micah is geared up and ready. Aunt Tammy David made this hat, isn't it adorable!
Snow on the pumper of the car.

I love when snow hits the street lights. I think its beautiful.

Its really coming down out there and I love it. Its so pretty.

You can put lipstick on a boy, but he's still a boy.

This picture really does not do the situation justice but you get the idea.

I was in the nursery changing Micah's diaper and Max was watching t.v. in the living room. I should have known that it was a little too quiet. I came out expecting to see Max on the couch where I had left him. Instead, he was sitting on the floor and my purse was wide open next to him with its contents spilled all over. Max had my color stay lipstick in his hand (you know the stuff that stays on for 12 hours. It pretty much stains your lips for the day) and was putting it on. He had it all over his lips and mouth and pants and shirt. I took him in the bathroom and tried to get it off...yeah, no such luck. Of course this was the day I had to go to the grocery store. I felt that everyone was looking at me and thinking I was a terrible mom because I didn't even wash my son's filthy face before I left the house. It took two days to come completely off.

Thanks

Thanks to everyone who donated money on Thursday for Jerry's kids. Jason was able to raise over $1,000 for MDA. I found out that he didn't have to go to real jail and he was only gone like an hour and they let him go back to work. I was hoping he would have to do some hard time and it would straighten out his act.....no such luck.

Cute story

Micah still sleeps with his eyes half open.....it still creeps me out. It looks like he is awake here but he's not.

I called to check on the boys today at daycare and Jamie told me a very cute story. She had laid Micah down in her daughter's bed for a nap and Max was sitting in a rocking chair hanging out. Jamie had to go downstairs to help her daughter with something and when she came back up stairs Max was gone out of the chair. She went into the bedroom to check on Micah and make sure Max wasn't trying to pick him up or wake him and she found Max sleeping next to him. He had crawled into bed with his little brother and fell fast asleep. The little stinker never does that for me.

Jail time approaching

Jason goes to jail tomorrow and so far he has only $50 towards his goal of $1600 so if any of you would like to donate, click the link and help Jerry's kids and Jason.
Thanks!

Chunky Monkey

I took Micah yesterday for his 4 month check up and he is off the charts for his height and weight. He weighs 16 pounds 6 onces and is 26 1/2 inches long. Max only weighs 26 pounds and he's almost 2. I think big brother better start growing or Micah is going to be bigger than him in no time. I am going to have to switch Micah into a different car seat by the time he reaches 6 months. Its fun to see how different the boys are.

Oh, a new toy.
hey, this is mine.

Yup, I remember and its mine.

Its mine now sucka!

And I love it.

We got out Max's Baby Einstein bouncy play thing this weekend for Micah. He loved it. Now the trick is keeping Maximo out of it.

A weekend of leaves

Max was very proud of the apple he found on the ground from the neighbor's tree. He ate the whole thing.

He's cute even with snot running down his face!

Jay hard at work.

The result of playing outside all day......and he's down for the count.

This weekend Jason and Max spent most of their time outside taking care of leaves. Actually, to be more accurate, Jason took care of leaves and Max played in them and made progress almost impossible. Micah and I joined the fun for awhile but we didn't stay out too long because it was so chilly. Just like when I was a kid, playing in leaves is still fun. Its even better now that I have two beautiful children to watch play in them.

Welcome Charles Nelson!!!

Bryce and Suria had a baby boy!! His name is Charles Nelson, he is 7lbs and 8 ozs and he has black hair like his mama. Apparently he is partial to Scotch (Max and Micah wanted to know). We are very happy for you guys and can't wait to meet him.

Drama and Pukey Pukerson

We have given the boys these nicknames recently. Max is going through this stage where he is more dramatic about things than a teenage girl. Any little thing will set him off like if he runs out of juice or we tell him no. I really hope this doesn't last forever because I think I might go MAD.

Micah has been such a puker from day one. I actually took him to the doctor when he was a week old because I thought he might have that thing where the esophagus closes off at the stomach and they throw everything up. It takes surgery to correct it. Turns out he just pukes a lot. This means that I constantly have baby puke on my shoulder and we go through about 100 bibs a day. Thank God for bibs! I feel so bad for him and I am hoping he outgrows this soon. Yesterday I pick him up and gave him kisses as he puked in my mouth. I almost puked myself. Jason was nice enough to advise me that it wasn't a big deal since it was just my processed breast milk. I can tell you that it was disgusting and I will be more careful next time I get kisses from Mr. Micah.

Time Change

I remember when I used to love time change in the fall (except for the fact that it now gets dark at 5) because you would get that extra hour of sleep. Now that I have kids it just means that I get up at 5:30 am instead of 6:30. I'm sure Max and Micah will adjust in a few days just like we all do. At least we will all go to bed earlier since its dark soooo early. It always feels much later than it is and it magically sucks the energy from you. I don't have much to spare as it is....oh well.

Halloween

Micah resting up for the big night.
Our friends Alan and Julie at a Halloween party we went to after we took the boys trick or treating.

St. Pauly girl Aaron. He was even handing out beer.....just ask Jason.

Max getting ready to monkey around.

Great Grandma betty, Bell and Micah

We started the night trick or treating with the boys. It was a lot of fun. We started out at Grandma Betty's house and then headed out from there. Max was so cute going door to door. He was so proud of himself when he got his candy. He would say, "thanks" and then book it for the next house. We took the boys home and Grandma Kathy and Katie watched them for us so we could go to our friend's Jeff and Sarah's house for a party. Max passed out in the car on the way home. We brought him in the house, took off his costume and put him in bed and he never woke up. Too bad trick or treating isn't every night. The party we went to was fun. I love to see everyone dressed up. Our friend Sarah is pregnant and she dressed up as a witch. There were plenty of jokes to be had there. I wish I would have gotten a picture of Jeff. He was a 70's cop....hilarious. We weren't out too late but it was nice to get out and relax for a couple of hours. It was a really fun day.
