Meeting baby Blake

Kate and Blake. I kind of caught her off guard with this picture.......sorry Katie.
Max and uncle Rory.

I just love my new nephew Blake. He is so cute and tiny.

He is so precious, I just wanted to eat him up.

holding him almost makes me want to ask Jason to have his vasectomy reversed so I can have another baby.......... I said almost. I guess I will just have to babysit a lot.

Blake was born at 10:37 last night and weighs 6 pounds 12 ounces. He is 18 1/2 inches long. Him and Katie are both doing great. They get to come home from the hospital tomorrow night. We are so excited for them.

Men at work

Those are my boys at work. Micah worked so hard with that hammer that he threw up on his sweatshirt. Kind of gross I know.

Oh Mr. Max and Mr. Micah

Just thought I'd share some of Micah's 9 month pictures with you.

This one cracks me up because its just so Micah. That look makes me giggle.
Standing at the dock of the bay watching my mom look like an idiot trying to make me smile.

This is my favorite. I think he's just too handsome.

We aren't sure if he was laughing or crying or both but its cute.

I just can't believe how much I have been blessed with my two beautiful boys!

Max wanted to wear his helmet the other day and then he decided he wanted to tow this sled behind his tractor. It was very cute and very funny to watch.

We got Max to wear big boy underwear for several hours the other night. This is him modeling them for the camera. I think he may be a professional model when he grows up. I mean, look at that pose...........he's a natural.

He was so serious about the work he was doing. The rope kept coming off the tractor and he was getting so frustrated. I like to watch him work through those little problems.

aahhh, sweet success.

Max tearing into an chocolate duck from Easter. A little sugar is always good after playing outside. I do want to mention that Jason dressed him in one of micah's shirts and pants that don't match. Just wanted to clarify.

CONGRATS KATE AND RORY

Congrats to Katie and Rory on the birth of their son.
Blake Christopher was born some time last night around 10:30.
He is 6 pounds 13 ounces and oh so cute. I will have pictures and more details later on today.

How to spend a day off

Jason and I woke up this morning and decided we were feeling ambitious. Jason made pancakes, which were delicious and then we did some demolition. We have this half wall that divides our living room and kitchen and it had these rungs that were straight from the 70's in it. We took those right out. Its amazing how it just opens everything up now. I would like to take that wall right out but that would require some new flooring so I think I'm okay with just the rungs being gone. We also cleaned out Jason's closet this morning. It was a total disaster area in there but it looks great now. I guess my next move will be to run to Goodwill and donate all of Jason's clothes he parted with today. Hope every is having a good weekend like we are.

Pancakes............yum
Max still loves his highchair. If he has a choice, he sits here to eat.

Our attempt at family photo of breakfast. It would have been better if Micah was looking and I had a shower.

this is our demo job. that space was full of really ugly rungs or poles or whatever the technical term is. I think it looks so much better now. It will look even better when I paint the living room in the next couple of weeks.

a day with my bff's

Happy Birthday Molly! I love ya!
Me, Windi and Molly enjoying a nice lunch.

Say cheese girls. Thanks for putting up with Molly and I taking pictures Wind!

Yesterday I met my bestfriends Molly and Windi in birchrun. We had lunch to celebrate Molly's 30th birthday and then we shopped. It has been quite awhile since we've all been together so it was great to spend some time and catch up. And of course its always fun to shop. Our time went way to quickly as it always does but it was a great day.

Red Cross Fashion Show

Cheryl Kampf, Lisa Flannery and I headed for a fashion show. Look it how short I am, I had big fat heals on with that outfit and I was still a shorty.

Last night I got to go to a Red Cross fashion show with a couple girls from work. It was at the Bovee university Center and Central or the UC for all of us Alum. Some of the local stores had students and community members modeling off clothing and jewelry while we ate. We had a lovely salad and some Max and Emily's cheese cake for dessert. It doesn't get better than that. I had fun and really enjoyed an evening out with women.

Peek-A-Boo

While Max naps, Micah and I get some one on one time to play. He loves peek-a-boo. He is such a happy boy most of the time.

A Weekend in Grand Rapids

We spent the weekend in Grand Rapids. Every year there is an EMS Expo at the Amway Grand and Jason has to go for work so I usually go to. We brought the boys this year. The boys and I hit the town while Jason went to classes and took care of work stuff. It was a fun packed weekend with beautiful weather. It was great and so nice to get away for a couple of days.

Frederick Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park

I have never been to the Fred Meijer gardens but wow. I was truly amazed. This place is immense and wondrous. We saw only about 2 percent of this place. We got caught up in the children's gardens. There are several water play areas, a sand area to dig and find fossils, tree houses and much much more and that's just in the kids area. We also got to see the butterflies in bloom. They have so much to offer here. You could spend all day and probably not see everything. I can't wait to go back. We did things very backwards. First I let Max play in the water and get soaked. We then went to see the butterflies. Max had to go without a shirt because his was soaking wet and I forgot to bring a different one. We then went to play in the sand area. Next time, we'll plan that better. It was a beautiful day and we saw many beautiful sights. I only wish Jason could have been with us.

Playing in water on a great spring day.

Micah dozing in the sun.

nothings better than getting your clothes soaked.

some flowers that the butterflies love.

The Grand Rapid's Children's Museum

Saturday morning the boys and I walked over to the children's museum. They have a Blue Man Group exhibit there right now and lots of fun stuff to do. We could have spent all day here. I wish Mt. Pleasant had a place like this because we would be there all the time.
Max driving in an old VW bug.

Max made giant bubbles. We both thought this was a ton of fun.

Part of the Blue Man Group exhibit where you could make music by hitting these pads on the tubes.

Micah even had a ton of fun.

Max rocking out on this piano.

Micah couldn't figure out why he couldn't just grab these lights. It was cute to watch.

A sweet lady was nice enough to take our picture. I'm always the one with the camera and feel like I don't have any pictures with the boys. Thanks nice lady!

Brothers having fun.
as soon as we got back to the hotel, the boys and I crashed for almost 2 hours. It was great!!

The Van Andel Public Museum

Saturday after our much needed nap I took the boys across the river from our hotel to the museum. They have a dinosaur exhibit going on there right now that Max just had to check out. Besides the dinosaurs, they a lot of other great stuff. We didn't get to experience most of it because the museum was closing an hour after we arrived but we will definitely go back to visit again. We did get to ride the giant carousal. Max and Micah both thought it was mesmerizing.

Holy crap, did you see that dinosaur?

Max so badly wanted to get into this plane.

Max made great dinosaur noises to go with these toys, they were scary!

This carousal looks out onto the water. Its really quite magical.

Swimming.

Jason attempted to teach Max to swim but its going take some work.

This is so great.

After the museum we took the boys to the pool and they had so much fun swimming. Max thought it was the coolest to jump into the pool and have daddy catch him. It was Micah's first time in a pool and he didn't seem to care to much. He just hung out and let me swish him around in the water.
