Hey there bright eyes

Micah's eyes were very blue when he was born. They have been changing ever since. Right now they are mostly green with concentrations of brown throughout. I wonder what color they will finally decide to be?

The Fast Plan

So I began my fast yesterday. It actually wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. I even got 4 books of the old testament read. That in its self is impressive for me. I flew threw the new testament but the old testament is tough. Its getting easier now that I am not reading page after page of how to build a tabernacle. Its interesting and a little strange but I like it. Its just slow moving. Anyway my goal is to read a book a week. I think I have 30 books left to read. So in 30 weeks, look for a post from me being super excited that I just read the entire bible.

I hope today goes as well yesterday. I am only doing a 2 day fast so tomorrow morning I will eat again. Yay!

My boys take their gator wrestling seriously. As you may know, gators not a reptile to mess with. You have to go in strong and get the job done. Well done guys, well done!

Holy Crap

Holy Crap a republican won in Massachusetts. I guess miracles still do happen and there is hope for conservatives after all. I think this is great. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next few weeks with health care.

Fasting

Has anyone ever fasted? I don't mean for blood work either. I mean fasted for spiritual reasons. I feel like I need a spiritual and physical cleansing so I have to decided to fast. I work next Monday and Tuesday so I plan to do it then. If I'm not busy I can sit in the ambulance and read the bible and pray. I have never done this before and I'm a little nervous about it. Anyone who knows me, knows I don't like to be hungry. I'll let you know how it goes.

Congratulations to my little brother Lance on his engagement to Brooke! We are so happy for them. The big day is October 9th. Yay!

finally

Max has been peeing in the potty like a champ since he turned 3 last month but he refused to poop in the toilet. So finally yesterday at grandma and grandpa's house he did it. I really hope he continues to do this because I'm really tired of cleaning up poopy underwear!

Ice Lays

Since I have met Jason I have been hearing stories of infamous ice lays. Jason and his friends would be playing cards and want to make the betting interesting so they would bet things like laying out in the snow for 30 seconds without your shirt if you lost. I even heard about them chopping holes in the Nelson's pool and the loser would have to jump in. These things seems a little childish but when you're playing cards until 2 a.m. and there are 4 empty bottles of wine sitting in front you, it apparently is still a good idea. I would have nothing to do with this so Jason said he would do my time. Boys. Anyway, Jason bet Sharpie and Mitch that the loser of euchre would have to lay in the snow for 30 seconds without their shirt on. Well, I'm not bragging about my euchre skills but we won. So with a lot of crying and pouting, Sharpie and Mitch headed out in the 5 degree weather with their shirts off. They laid in the snow for 30 seconds, while Jay kicked snow of them and I laughed my butt off, and then they had enough and ran inside like girls. What I thought was a childish bet turned out to be the most amusing thing I've seen in quite some time. Thanks for losing guys!

Frog mating season

These are not our frogs. Ours our a lot smaller that this and ours were laying on their backs. I just thought you should have a visual of this.

So I walked into Max's room the other night to feed the fish and frogs and to my surprise, the frogs were......ugh.....mating. I guess I bought a girl and boy frog and they like each other. I am curious to see what happens in the next couple of weeks or how ever long a frog's gestational period is. Jason thinks the fish will eat the eggs and we will never see baby frogs. I kind of hope that happens because I wasn't really looking for a frog infestation in our fish tank.
