A look back

This is when Max was so little and innocent.............you know, before he could talk back.

Micah

He's getting so big
I love putting him in random spots and taking his picture.
He's just so cute......and chunky........I love it.

One of those days

Today was one of those days. It wasn't a bad day just a trying day. It started when I went to Target this morning to pick up a couple things. I not only purchased several things but it turns out I also stole something. Max was playing with a box of breast milk storage bags and they ended up in our target bag and I did not pay for them. So when Jason got home from work I went back to Target and purchased them.

After the clepto incident Max and I were hanging out on the couch watching TV when he got up and started stripping his clothes off and saying, "pee pee mama". I was excited that he might actually go pee pee in his toilet. So we went into the bathroom, took off his diaper and sat him on his big boy potty. he sat their for about 2 seconds and then said, "NO". He then got up and went streaking into his bedroom. I went into the nursery to get him a new diaper and when I went into his room to put it on him, he was peeing on his bedroom floor. That was fun.
Later in the day, he punched me in the mouth thinking he was being funny. It didn't feel so funny. All of this added onto a splitting headache made for a day that I just had to shake my head at.

Christmas came early

figuring out the trailer
This is the best day ever!

Bet you wish you had a tractor like this.
Mowing the lawn, mowing the lawn, here I am mowing the lawn............

Maximo got his new tractor today. We decided he might as well have it now so he can use it before it gets cold. I can't imagine the drama that would take place on Christmas day when he saw that tractor and then realized he couldn't ride it until Spring.

So to make a long story short...... He loves the tractor. He hasn't quite figured out how to steer it yet but give him a week and I'm sure he'll have mastered it.

He didn't get to use the tractor much today because it was raining on and off but I'm sure he will have that thing wore out before snow falls.

Jason's mom got this shirt for Micah. It cracks me up!

Some assembly required

I hope Max and Micah have as much fun with this as the kid on the box.

ooooooooohhhhhhhhh..........how pretty huh?
And I'm lost.

Max's tractor came today while he was at day care. This worked out perfectly because I could put it together without him seeing it. It was mostly together, I just had to put on the steering wheel, the seat, the lights and about a million stickers. It was easy until I came to the trailer. The directions for putting the wheels on are vague to say the least and the picture is useless. I am a bit embarrassed to say I couldn't figure it out. Jason will have to do it. I will say that a lot of people must screw that part up because they sent extra pieces.

The battery has to charge for 18 hours so I have the tractor hidden in the back of the trail blazer until tomorrow. I can't wait to see his face when he finds out he has his own tractor. I will be sure to post pictures.

tradgedy has struck

Every morning at 7 am we watch Hi-5 on TLC. This is Max's all time favorite show. its not just a show, its often a tool capable of stopping pain, tantrums and bad moods. This morning, it wasn't on. none of the kids shows that are normally on TLC in the morning were there. I'm hoping it was fluke thing but I'm worried they have changed their programming and Hi-5 is gone. Lets pray they stay on cable On Demand!

In the dog house

OUCH! Max hits his head at least 5 times a day. The dog house was no exception

Max made himself at home in the dog's house at Jason's parents. He thought it was a play house for him. I can see him fighting with the puppies to get in there every time we visit. As long as he doesn't eat the dog food we're good.

Impressive spill

Max dropped his yogurt this morning and it sent yogert flying all over the place. It was pretty impressive.

Early Teething I think

I think Micah is starting to teethe already. He has began to drool and he is chewing on his little hands and anything else he can get in his mouth. I thought Max was going to get teeth early because he was an earlier teether and he didn't get one until he was 8 months old. I keep forgetting that Micah is 3 months old already and it probably isn't that unlikely that he is starting to teethe.

My little throne

I guess reading while sitting on the toilet is a natural thing for all men. Don't mind Jason's knees in this picture. He was also sitting on the toilet and reading but I thought I would spare you all from that site.

OH SNAP

I know this is going to sound a little psychotic but I just have to get it out. I hate snaps. With a baby comes snaps. Snaps on all the cute little outfits, snaps on bibs, snaps on things that don't even need snaps. The idea I believe, is to make life a little easier for us but honestly they are kind of a pain in the butt. Obviously snaps are easier and better than buttons but they cause me a great deal of frustration pretty much on a daily basis. End vent session.

Dinner with friends

Chris and George
Norman and Arwin
Max pretending to hide

Our friends Chris and George are visiting from Florida right now. They are our adopted parents. We love them to pieces. Anyway, Chris's brother Norman and his wife Arwin are visiting from England so we all went out for dinner last night. We met at Mountain Town Station, which is one of my favorite places to eat. Not only is the food awesome but the acoustics in the place make it kind of noisy so if one of my children start screaming no one really notices and we are not ruining any one's evening. We had a very nice dinner and enjoyed catching up with everyone. Max really got attached to Norman. All it took was a little peek-a-boo and Max had a new best friend. It was adorable on the car ride home when Max said, Where did Norman go?". When we informed Max that Norman had gone home for the night he spent the rest of the car ride calling out for Norman like we was hiding somewhere in the car and was going to pop out and say "hi" at any minute. So cute!

THIS TRACTOR ROCKS!!!

We had a play date today with our friend Erin. She has 3 year old twins, Madison and Nevin. Max had fun playing with them but what he really loved was their battery powered John Deere tractor. Max is all about tractors right now and he was so excited that he got to drive one all by himself. I could tell he thought he was too cool for school. We now know what Santa will be bringing for Max this Christmas. Does anyone know of anyone who is getting rid of one these? I would love to be cheap and find him a used one.

First train set

My mom got Micah a gift for his dedication and of course she didn't want Max to feel left out so he got a gift too. A gift that would prove to be the coolest thing he has ever seen. He got a little train set. He is in love with this thing. I think he loves this train set as much as he loves his tractors. he was cracking up laughing as it was going around the track and saying, "choo choo". So funny to watch him so excited about a toy. I love it when he is so happy and enthusiastic.

Micah's dedication

I got Micah all dressed up this morning and we headed up to Clare to our church for Micah's dedication. Jason's parents both work at the church and my mom and dad were able to join us for this special service. Micah did so well. he didn't cry or throw up or anything. He was so cute. The only thing that would have been better is if I would have gotten some more pictures. I didn't get a picture of him all dressed up before he pooped his outfit and I let my mom take pictures when we were up getting Micah dedicated. My mom isn't so good with technology. I don't even feel bad saying this on the blog because she doesn't even have a computer so she will never read it. Plus, she will admit to being technologically illitrate. I am thankful that the church records all their services so we will be getting a DVD. We are proud to have the boys both dedicated and we hope we can raise them to be good God fearing men who have unwaivering faith. We are so blessed and thankful for all that we have.

Celebrating 55 years

The Dairy Phil in Clare has been in business for 55 years and our friends Trevor and Mel, who own it, had a big party on Saturday to celebrate. They had a big bouncy castle, hoola hoop competitions and lots of other fun stuff going on. Max had a riot eating ice cream and running around. He wasn't quite daring enough to go into the bouncy castle but he would jump on the step to get inside it. Trevor's 77 year old mother who is visiting from South Africa actually got into the bouncy castle. I see where Trevor gets his spunk from. Our friends Aaron and Melissa joined us at the celebration too. It was a nice day.

Back to School

Jason has gone back to school. He is taking online classes through Davenport. He is just part time this semesterbut he might go full time next semester. I know its only been a couple of weeks but he is doing so well and I am very proud of him. It won't be long and he'll have a degree. YAY. He's had lots of education with work but never managed to get a degree. A lot of his credits transfered from when he was in college like a decade ago so it won't be long and he'll have an associates. He plans to end up with Bachelor's in business. Keep up the good work Jay.

Calling All Cute Babies

Every year Gap has a casting call to find adorable baby models. Last year I entered Max and I don't know how he didn't win but he didn't. So we are going to try again this year. I am going to enter Max and Micah. Since all of us have absolutely adorable children I thought I would let you guys know since I think all of our kids have a fair chance to be the next face of baby Gap. You can go to the Gap website for all the details. I think you have to use Snapfish to upload your photos. Good luck.

Sleeping with a gator

Max is so funny. My life would be so dull without him. He has this big alligator that he got for Christmas last year and he insists that it sleeps with him at night. We put him in his big boy bed and he says with his cute little voice, "ayigator". So we put it in bed with him and off to sleep he goes.

Oy, what a busy day.

When it rains it pours! I mean this literally and figuratively. It not only rained all day yesterday but my brother got married and Katie and Rory had their reception. This was a bit problematic since we obviously wanted to be and needed to be two places at once. We made it work but we felt bad that we had to leave my brother's wedding early and that we couldn't be at Kate's reception the whole time. It was kind of a whirlwind day. We headed to Jason's parents house about 8:30 am. we kind of used their house as a staging point. I had to get my hair done in Gladwin at 10. I came right back to Jason's parent's and hung out for a couple of hours. We then had to be at the church at 2:30. The wedding was at 4 and the reception was directly after. We ate, and I did all the wedding stuff I was required to do and then we loaded up the kids and headed to Clare for Kate and Rory's reception. We stayed until almost 11 and then headed home where we proceeded to pass out. It was great that my brother, Danielle, Kate and Rory were all so understanding. We are very happy for all of them and wish them the best in their lives together.

Jon and Danielle's Wedding

Congratulations Jon and Danielle! My brother and his fiance got married on Saturday. The wedding was in Gladwin at the Assembly of God church and the reception was at the beautiful Riverwalk Place. It was a beautiful wedding even with the rain. Max and I were both in the wedding. It was a little hectic with trying to keep Max were he was suppose to be, getting ready for the wedding myself and then worrying about how and when I was going to feed Micah but it all worked out. Thank God for my niece Katie who just took Micah for me until the wedding was over. She was a life saver. poor Jason looked a little exhausted by the time the day was over. Max was the most adorable thing I have ever seen in his little tux. He and the flower girl, who is just 4 weeks older than him, did so well. They held hands down the aisle and everyone started clapping because they were so cute so they stopped walking to clap themselves. It was adorable. I was very proud of him. I just wish someone would have gotten some video of that. Oh well. My poor brother and his new wife are going to Florida tomorrow for their honeymoon. so, not only did it rain all day at their wedding but its going to rain their whole honeymoon. I'm sure they will find something to do to keep themselves busy....he he he.

Kate and Rory's Reception

Congratulations Kate and Rory! Kate and Rory had their reception on Saturday. We didn't get there until around 9 pm but it was a ton of fun and the decorations were great. It was a pool party and the only way it could have been better is if the constant rain would have disappeared. Nobody seemed to mind the rain much and they had a great turn out despite the weather. It was nice to see everyone and visit. Kathy, my great mother-in-law did the food. We didn't get to eat because we got there so late but I hear it was really good. We are so happy for Kate and Rory and so glad we got to celebrate with them since we couldn't make it to Vegas for the wedding.

Big Boy Bed Update

So Max fell out of his big boy bed last night. He didn't fall far but it definitely didn't make him happy. He also got out of his bed about 4 times besides that. Why did I take that railing off? Anyway, we are going to give it some more time. I'm sure he will get used to his new freedom. I think I like the baby Jail railing better than his new freedom to roam the house at all hours of the night but he has to transition some time so it might as well be now.

Bachelorette party

on saturday I had a bachelorette party for my future sister-in-law Danielle. Everyone met at my house for some daquaries and snacks and then we headed to Coco Joe's (a dueling piano bar).

it was pretty low key but fun. I hope Dani had a good time.

Big Boy Bed

We decided it was time to turn Max's crib into a toddler bed. He has been doing pretty good with it. The first night I awoke to him staring me in the face saying, "mama". He scared the crap out of me. He loves being able to get into his bed play. It seems like just yesterday he was sleeping next to me in the bassinet Micah is now in.

cute shirts

I love Iron on decals. I am not great at making things but I can pull out the iron and make a cute onsie or T-shirt and feel crafty. I made this for Micah this weerkend. Max has one almost the same but it says kiss me booty instead of wipe. My plan was to put Max and Micah together and take a picture of their matching shirts but Max managed to destroy his shirt in about two seconds. It was death by salsa.
