Poor Micalito
Micah was diagnosed with asthma today. He has allergies that trigger the asthma but they can't test to see what allergies he has until he is 2 years old. So, it looks like we will be doing breathing treatments for the next couple of months. He is on steroids for the next 5 days along with his antibiotic for his ear infection and when those are finished he will start on Allegra and another nebulizer med. The breathing treatments are helping already but he still sounds pretty raspy. This however, has not stopped him from running around and being his little monster self. I am very happy about this and exhausted about it too. lol. I am hoping now that this sickness that hits him every 3 weeks or so will stop. That would be nice for all of us.

Finally
It has been about 3 years now that Jason and I have been wishing we had a babysitter that was close to us. My mom lives 40 minutes away and Jason's parents live about 25 minutes away. That's not terrible but they are both busy and when they watch the boys for us we don't feel like we should be out late because we don't want to keep them up. We know most of our neighbors pretty well and some we just chat with once in awhile. Well tonight we visited with some neighbors a couple doors down that have an 18 year old daughter who is a senior. She came out to visit and I asked her if she babysat. She was so excited. She told me she has been looking for jobs and hasn't found any and would love to babysit for us anytime. Yes! I am so excited. She is going to come over and hang out a little bit so the boys can get used to her and she can get used to them and then we have ourselves a babysitter for the weekends. Now we can go see a movie or go out to dinner. Its so great. It probably won't last long since she is a senior and is planning to join the national guard but I'll take what I can get.

Stupid car seat
Micah started with a bad ear infection tonight so I took him to the Ready Care. The poor little guy was in lots of pain. We were the only ones at the Ready Care so we were in and out in 20 minutes. It helped that he was screaming the entire time we were there and I don't think they wanted to hear him any longer than they had to. We stopped at Walgreens and got his script filled and made it almost all the way home before he puked all over himself and the car seat. Getting Micah cleaned up was easy, but the car seat is a different story. You pretty much have to be a rocket scientist to figure out how to dismantle our car seat to clean it. It might be because I'm tired or it might be that I'm just not that brilliant but I can't figure out how to get the cover off the seat. The slot the straps go through is actually bolted through the cover to the seat so it won't come off. I guess I just scrub the good old fashioned way.

Tired boys.
Max and Micah both had a really long day. Micah woke up at 4:30 and Max at 6:30. We went to church and then we came home and they played outside all day long. Max wouldn't even come in to use the bathroom, he thought the bush outside was good enough. Did you notice there is no mention of a nap? Its because they didn't take one. So Max was the first one to fall asleep at the dinner table and Micah quickly followed suit. I will let them sleep for a short while and then they are both getting in the bathtub. Playing outside all day makes for some very dirty boys. Just look at Max's feet.

This wasn't how the day was suppose to go.
So the boys and I had plans to go to Alma this morning to watch my nephew run in a big track meet down there. We were to be there by 10:30 to see his first race. Sounds easy enough right? Things quickly started to go a rye. first I accidentally cut of some guy on the expressway that was hiding nicely in my blind spot. I tried to say I was sorry as he sped by me flipping me off but I don't think he was interested in my apology. When we were almost to the track at Alma College, I got a text message from my nephew saying that his race started at 10 and he was already done running. So I thought no biggie, we'll just go hang out until his next race. I was happy just to get to the college. Then the road to the track was closed so I drove around for no less than 15 minutes trying to figure out how to get there. Me and 3 other cars just parked far away and walked to the track because we couldn't find our way there. I was glad it wasn't just me. We finally made it to the track meet. We quickly found my nephew and I thought we would be fine. Well, I didn't come prepared because we were just suppose to stay for his first race. Therefore, I didn't have snacks or drinks. We ran to the concession stand and got fruit snacks and Gatorade but come noon that wasn't cutting it. Both of the boys started having a melt down at the same time. Micah threw himself on the ground so I grabbed his arm and helped him back to his feet and picked him up. Some guy then came up to me and told me he broke his daughter's arm doing that before and I should not grab my child by the arm because its very dangerous. He was a very nice older man and he was trying to help but I was not abusing my child and I felt like he was accusing me of that. I was super embarrassed and had had enough so I grabbed the kids and left thinking that my nephew wouldn't run for at least another hour and I didn't have another hour in me. On the way home he called me and told me he just ran his second race. So I missed that one to by about 15 minutes. I felt so bad. I missed both of his races and came very close to tears. I hope the rest of day goes a little better.

little stinker
So this is what a sleeping baby looks like.
Micah got up at 3 o' clock this morning, came running into our room saying, " mum-ma, dah-dee". He poped into bed with us for a couple of minutes and was singing and talking. He was so cute. I changed his diaper and put him back to bed. The cuteness factor quickly wore off as he got out of bed 10 more times and didn't fall back asleep until 5. He has never done this before and I hope he never does it again. He was such a stinker all day yesterday I guess he just wanted to keep it up through the night. Maybe all of those curls have been hiding the horns.

A Change.........I Hope
So I don't know how it happened but we watch way too much t.v. in this house. Max never really watched it when he was smaller but Micah loves it and so they watch it more than they should. I think it started this past winter. There isn't much to do when you are stuck inside all day so the t.v. is just on. its back ground noise half of the time but its still on. Since Micah was little, Dora would instantly calm those crying fits when they want nothing. I never wanted to be one of those moms that used the t.v. to raise my children but I feel like that is what I have become. So I am done with it. This morning when I told Max he couldn't watch t.v. he sobbed for 10 minutes. Do you think we have a problem? I am going to limit them to about an hour a day. I'll let you know how it goes.
Update:
We did good yesterday. The boys watched about an hour and a half of t.v. total. I determined to keep it up no matter how much crying is involved. I expect half of it will come from Jason. lol.

wow, I didn't know that.
Max just told me that his grandma and grandpa taught him to say fart face. Max is getting into that potty humor stage where he thinks its great to say things like fart and butt. I just didn't know he was learing it from his grandparents. lol.

Micah's First Ponytail
Florida trip
Our trip to Florida was great. We got to spend lots of time with family and friends. Our friends Aaron and Melissa were in Orlando the same time as us so they met us at Sea World one day and we met them out for dinner and drinks another day. We also got to spend time with Bryce, Suria and the kids. Its always so nice to see them! We even convinced Mary Lou to stop studying for 5 min. so we could visit with her. On the way home we stopped in Atlanta to visit our friends Ryan and Ginger. It was really nice to break the drive up a little bit. The vacation wouldn't have been nearly as good without our friends and family being there. We're hoping to do it again next year. Thanks for inviting us grandma and grandpa!
The Beach
Mr. Cool
Some much needed guy time.
Grandma Geri met us at the beach. It was great seeing her no matter what Micah thinks about it. Bryce, Suria and the kids met us at the beach too but I didn't take any pics, we were too busy enjoying ourselves.
Max was a little more generous with the hugs.
After the beach we went to our favorite fish market/butcher shop and picked up all of these good eats. It tasted as good as it looks!
Of course, after a meal like that you must have desert.
Micah wasn't sure if he wanted to share his M&M's with Charlie but he decided he could spare a few in the end.

Sea World
the believe show was ok but since the "incident" its only 25 min long and just felt like it was getting started when they thanked us for coming and sent us on our way. Now that they aren't aloud in the tank with the whales, it wasn't so entertaining. The boys liked it though so it was great.
Happy first birthday Blake!
Micah just started doing this in Florida. Cute huh?
The guys being guys. Our friends Aaron and Melissa met us at Sea World, it was super fun being there with them. We even got to tackle a roller coaster while grandma and grandpa hung out with the boys and fed stingrays.
Holy sea cow............sorry, I had to say it.
The boys really liked the sting rays. You had to be careful when feeding them because birds would swoop down and steal the fish out of your hand.
Sea World was lots of fun. I was impressed with how well the boys did. It was great being there with family and friends. It made the experience that much more enjoyable!
