A Christmas Carnival

Today we went to my sister's house and then we all headed over to Chesaning to the Saginaw County Fairgrounds for a Christmas Carnival. The Christmas Carnival is inside so we didn't freeze to death. It was so nice. We rode rides, saw Santa, got some new personalized ornaments and had a great time.

For Micah, life is all about trains. Today he was in his glory. He rode trains, watched trains and played with trains.

Aunt Lori, Matt, Jessie, Max and Micah on the gator twirl and ride. No one puked so we call that success.

they had this giant train track at the carnival. We couldn't get Micah away from it. He just kept saying, "See Thomas". It made him so happy.

Max found Santa on his break.

This giant slide was a riot. Max did not want to go down at first but once we bribed him with a blue slushy drink he was all about it. Once he went down once he wanted to keep going. Both of the boys had so much fun. It was really nice having a young niece and nephew with us to take the boys down this over and over and over and over again.

Go Matt and Micah go.

We found Santa again and all got our picture taken with him. Micah was super excited about this. lol.

the carousel is fun at any age. Matt didn't want to ride but I made him. That's what good aunts do.

When we got home from the carnival, Uncle Shane came over and we all pigged out on pizza. It was such a great day spent with family!

Like father like son

Just like daddy.

Jason at two looks a lot like Micah at two.

Jason looks so much like his dad. People who we have never met us before will stop us in the store and ask Jason if he is Dan's son. Its odd.

We were going through pictures the other day when I came across some of Jason's baby pictures and also his dad's graduation picture. All I can say is there are no paternity tests needed in this family.

Meeting the new family

My cousin Kelly with Carter on her lap, Nash sitting next to her and Sophia on the end. Sophia was just in the hospital and had several surgeries. She is doing great and is so cute!

Last week we went to visit my cousin Kelly and meet her new children. Her and her husband and daughter just adopted 4 children bringing their family to 7. My niece Sidney was at a school and Grace who is 5 was at school but we got to meet the other kids. It was so nice to meet them and welcome them into our family. They are all adorable and so well behaved. I wish I could say the same about mine. The well behaved part that is. It was a great visit and hopefully we will see them again soon.

Thanks!

I had such a beautiful birthday yesterday! Thanks to everyone! I have such incredible friends and family. I feel great blessing everyday and I am so thankful for them. Jason hid my present in his trunk because he thought I would snoop. Just to clarify, I wouldn't. It was a gift certificate for a massage but Max told me it was fireworks. He said I should have fireworks for my birthday. It was really cute. I think he thinks that because there are always fireworks for Micah's birthday but it was still adorable.

A New Adventure

Just a few products 31 offers

I have never wanted to sell anything in my life. However, I went to a "31" home party last weekend and I was drawn to sell it. I really loved all the products and the fact they help keep you organized. I also loved that the name 31 is taken from Proverbs 31, "The Virtuous Woman". Its one of my favorite bible scriptures. So I talked to Jason and God about it and I'm going to do it. I'm nervous and excited. I think it will be a fun thing to do to get me out of the house and hopefully make a little extra money. I'm having a party December 2nd as a kick off and then I'll be on my way. So if you're not busy come to my house at 6 and check it out. It would be great to get some constructive critism from friends and family and also support.

The disipline chart

Max has been really misbehaving lately so a friend of mine suggested doing a discipline chart. We put 5 things on the chart; getting dressed, brushing teeth, clearing his plate from the table, picking up toys and the big one, being nice to his brother. He gets an "X" for each thing he completes throughout the day and at the end of the day if he has all of his X's he gets a treat. I am really surprised at how well this is working. He has been a totally different child this week. He has been so nice to Micah and picking up toys without being asked. Daycare even commented on great he was with his brother and picking up after himself. I don't expect these results to last after the newness and excitement of the chart wear off but I'll take what I can get.

Like father like son

I went in to check on Micah during his nap and this is what I found. He is out of his bed, passed out on the floor with a drink near him. Funny, I have found Jason in this same position once or twice before.

November in the Park

The boys and I packed a lunch and headed over to Island Park today. We had the whole place to ourselves and had a great time. It was nice to let the boys run and play and not have to worry about other kids or adults.

The boys love playing on the piece of rubber. It bounces them all over the place. Its kind of funny to watch them try to balance.

Making noise is always fun!

Max wanted to take my picture sliding down this thing but it kind of just looks like I'm pole dancing. Not really the best look for me.

I guess Max is going to follow in my foot steps. lol

Oh man.......its Thomas

Our friends Michael and Amy just gave us this Thomas the Train tent. If I was smart, I would have saved it for Chrimstmas but I have never claimed to be smart. The boys have had a blast playing with this and it folds down to almost nothing so I can stick it in a closet. It has helped to encourage Micah's new obsession with Thomas. We may have to have a Thomas intervention because he's hooked!

It finally happened.

After two years of begging from Jason, our friends comparing him to Gene Wilder and people asking how, "how old is she"? I broke down and got Micah's hair cut today. I wasn't really thrilled about it but I have to admit it was looking pretty shaggy. He did really well and still looks like Micah. We got about an inch cut off so he still has his curls they are just not so out of control.

They picked it out before cutting it and he had instand afro.

All his curls on the floor.

I guess it tickled a little.

the finished product.

Jason thinks he looks more like a girl now that he did before but who really listens to Jason anyway? I think he looks handsome.

Proof that God doesn't like procrastination

Me: I don't feel like sweeping and mopping the floor right now, I think I'll do it later.
God: Um no, I think you'll do it now.
Max: What happened Mama?
Me: Life happened Max.
Max: What?
Me: Just go with it Max. Thats what I'm going to do.

This is what happens when a brand new gallon of milk falls off the counter. Its awesome. My floor got cleaned sooner instead of later today. I guess I should be glad about that. Lesson learned......don't procrastinate.

Trick or Treating

So we brought the boys' costumes to Jason's parent's house on Sunday so they could see the boys all dressed up and do a little trick or treating there. I then managed to forget the costumes there. So Jason quick ran to Walmart to get Max a new costume and Micah used Max's Batman costume from last year. This worked out pretty well because the boys really didn't want to go as a monkey and giraffe anyway. I guess I can't dress them in cuddly animal costumes forever, enter the days of super heros, ninja's and monsters. My sister and niece ended up being in the area that day so they came trick or treating with us. It was a lot of fun. We even managed to make it to both great grandma's houses. Hope you all had a great time with your kids because we sure had fun with ours.
